Yes, I strongly agree. You need to have a standard put in place across this country. Giving the states the power to regulate the tobacco industry as they see fit would just lead to states putting a ban on tobacco products all together. It's unfair to the tobacco industry as compared to other products. I understand that tobacco products may only be purchased by adults but the same applies to alcohol. You don't see stores placing all alcoholic beverages five feet high.

2) I would argue for this reasoning by stating that it is unfair for a company to discriminate against a person because of their race, age, sex, or religion so why would it be fair to discriminate against the smokers of this nation. Smokers have rights too! We follow the laws set forth by the government and quit smoking in certain places. Until the government deems tobacco to be illegal, then everyone who is of age has the right to purchase that product, and to set unfair restrictions on tobacco is just like discriminating against those people.

I would argue against this reasoning by simply stating that tobacco products continually fall into the hands of children. No matter what laws are put forth regarding the sales of tobacco, children still seem to get the product. You could say that these regulations are a way of trying to help stop this from happening. Being a smoker myself, I can see the positive affects of stricter tobacco laws but at the same feel that my right as a 24 year old man to purchase a legal substance is being violated at the same time.
