Taking the paddle or using your hand is spanking good for your children? Will it teach them their lesson or make them act out worse in other ways? These are just some of the questions I ask and this is a summary of a couple of my resources.

According to evidence and research spanking children, whether by using a belt or
your hand can cause physical and mental harm when done by a parent, teacher, or any
other authority figure. According to all of the studies so far males are spanked more than
females. With females there is a worry about the sexual impact of it, when she is spanked
by an adult male whoever he may be it trains the female to submit. When authority
figures at school spank females it lines them up to be beaten by male figures in the future.

Corporal punishment is legal for certain reasons up to a specific age in 23 states: Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas and Wyoming. "One woman writes of her experience with paddling at a Florida high school in a letter posted on the Parents and Teachers Against Violence in Education Web site. She describes how she was made to bend over a male administrator's desk while wearing a miniskirt and was ordered to spread her legs further apart. While another male administrator watched, the paddler first caressed her buttocks with the paddle, then delivered three stinging whacks." ( Woman's eNews, 2006).
That woman never told a living soul about that day until she wrote that letter and let people know what was happening to their children. She feels like she was raped and she has every reason two and obviously it will affect her for the rest of her life.
World Corporal Punishment Research
Many schools officials and parents feel that corporal punishment is the way to go. In some of the clips this site showed me, some kids feel that it's a good thing also. I had seen children with bruised buttocks and thighs and people still condoning it. They want to strike fear into children to get them to act right but is that the way to go? They let their children go to school scared to get beaten by their teachers and principals. A Student at Cleveland Middle School was beaten so hard it sent him to the hospital.
