Cause of Death Steroids or Concussions

Many things may lead to an athlete’s death, but what exactly is causing so many athletes to commit suicide. Is it the use of anabolic steroids or is it the brain injuries sustained during these sports that are causing the depression that leads to suicide. The question that remains to not be answered is what is causing these suicides. Steroids or Concussions?

Over 75 athletes have committed suicide and the common cause has always been they were using steroids even know this wasn’t true. The media has stated that these athletes cheated their sports not only has it ruined or tarnished their legacy it has also led to research not being made about the athletes brain because of this assumption. Their depression and their untimely deaths have been to stack up in numbers and catch the eyes of many doctors and scientists. Recently many of these athletes have shot themselves in the chest and left letters explaining that they wanted their brain checked not only for science but to prove that concussions are the leading cause. Time after time these athletes seem to commit suicide with a gunshot to the head but recently they have been dying of sleeping pills and painkillers. As well as a shot to the chest. All these way preserve the brain and every time doctors have found that the athletes has had too many minor injuries to the brain. Rather than the dying because steroids causing depression it is the head trauma causing the problem.

Suicide is the third leading cause of death in the United States in young people aged 10-24 years and the second leading cause of death among ages 25 to 34 years. These ages also span the period when most professional athletes are competing. (Suicides-in-professional-athletes)
