My one-year strategic plan for branding BYLC:
Hello,
This is Parbon Acharjee, from The University of Dhaka, studying in The Department of Finance.
Below, you will find the strategic plan that I have designed for branding BYLC in my campus.
Bangladesh Youth Leadership Center is already a famous platform to learn and experience what leadership truly is. From the outside, people often think how can someone really teach leadership. Many takes this to be a by-born quality while some takes leadership to be something acquired naturally.
I, myself had serious doubts regarding BYLC before I attended the Youth Leadership Bootcamp 2015. I used to hear a lot of BYLC before and how it is changing people’s lives and the way they think. Personally, I always felt that I like to act like a leader. But I have certain flaws about which I was unaware. I wanted to explore more about leadership. Hence, I applied for the YLBT 2015 which changed my thinking eventually regarding my life.
As an ambassador of BYLC, I would surely try my best to make sure anyone who is applying for various BYLC programs knows the purpose of joining it. I am from The University of Dhaka, where most of the students are not from Dhaka. So, this is very common that most of them have no idea about BYLC.
For any brand to prosper in the long run, positioning plays a key role. Through my strategy, I would love to make sure the positioning of BYLC gets very strong in people’s mind. BYLC lets us experience leadership, so leadership is the word on which I will focus more.
For branding, this is also essential to send a clear message which is simple but powerful.
Also, good communicators are needed to spread the messages and answer various questions.
I have divided my strategy for the next one year in the following manner:
Freshers and Sophomores:
For the 1st and 2nd year students, I, with my BYLC ambassadors team, would go to various department sections and speak with the respective chairmen. We would try to connect more with the Freshmen and encourage them to practice leadership from their own positions. We will be notifying them more about BYLC and its various events like the Building Bridges Through Leadership Training that are specially designed for them.
For the Juniors and Seniors:
For the 3rd and 4th year students, I will use the same above approach to reach out to them. But BYLC has specially designed programs for them, like the Art of Practice and Leadership. Hence, while reaching out to them, I will emphasis more on how the job life is going to be in the near future. For this, I’m planning to bring senior BYLC graduates who are now working in various places. They will come and share about their experiences regarding BYLC and how it helped them to shape their various approaches of life.
Facebook Group:
I will open a separate Facebook group named BYLC-DU Wing, where I will regularly post about leadership and other related topics. This will help me to build a strong community of DU students, which later will help me to maximize my post reach whenever I’ll be posting about various BYLC events.
Apart from programs that BYLC offers for all University students, I would like to arrange some events which are exclusively designed for the students of DU, where the current BYLC instructors and facilitators would come and give a glimpse of what actually happens in BYLC.
I believe with the above mentioned techniques, I can make a strong positioning in people’s mind regarding BYLC and do efficient branding in my University.
I am eagerly waiting to successfully implement my strategy.
