I have always wanted to learn more about the Bible but have found myself finding excuses not to read it. I fully believe that is the manual to life and I have the Bible application, however sitting down and reading it in its entirety is a completely different experience. The Making of the Bible is something I never truly understood. I was confused as to how people wrote the passages. I had questions like, were they influenced and how so? I truly wanted details.

When reading this book to learn more about the Bible and how it was written, I learned that it took a significant amount of time to compile and approve the manuscripts that were formed to make the Bible. As mentioned on page 24, many manuscripts were passed down orally from one generation to the next. The final books of the Old Testament were formed between 800 and 400 b.c. I did not know that these manuscripts took such effort to compile and some these parts of history were passed down by storytelling just like nowadays.

As I read, I felt as though there was so much information being discussed. If I did not know a little bit about the Bible this information would be a lot to take in. Though reading about the Bible is very interesting it can be a bit overwhelming. I have a friend that is taking a Bible class at another college in Oklahoma City and we discussed the differences of the classes. My friend did not enjoy her class, however, this has been a nice change of pace for me.
