Contracts:
Prior to hosting the event there are many contracts that will need to be signed. Such as, food contracts with suppliers, performers etc.
Sometimes when signing contracts it’s difficult to understand and interpret the legal terminology used. Parkers Fest have a team of legal representatives who will thoroughly go through all legal documents before anything is signed and submitted.
War/Terrorism:
This is a subject that has been all over the news recently; although it isn’t what we want to focus on but it could occur in cultural events. This is because some people could be extremists and take their religion very seriously.
Recently for the Telegraph Newspaper; Home secretary Theresa May says that the terrorism threat is "greater than it has been at any time before or after 9/11".
Recommendations:
One recommendation is that at the events there are enough security at the events to ensure the safety of the guests at the event. Also, to have police on site if there is to be any suspicious activity.
Food and Hygiene Act 1984:
Parkers Fest will have various food stalls that will be selling different types of food. It is vital that all the e comply with this Act which states:
Food and Hygiene Act (1984) “A person is guilty of an offence who—(a) adds any substance to food, (b) uses any substance as an ingredient in the preparation of food, (c) abstracts any constituent from food, or (d) subjects food to any other process or treatment, so as (in any such case) to render the food injurious to health, with intent that the food shall be sold for human consumption in that state.”
Recommendations:
One recommendation is that staff or health and safety bodies complete regular checks of the stalls when holders are preparing the food and selling the food. This is to insure that the safety of the guests at the carnival.
