The typical teenagers are watching television, playing games or going to the mall. While other typical teenagers are out stealing beer, partying and drinking. Meanwhile, some are hanging out with their friends out robbing and killing people. What’s the difference between the kids that are committing a crime and who are not?
Ethan Coach is an American teen who was sentenced to ten years probation after being convicted of killing four pedestrians and seriously injuring two others while driving drunk. He was sixteen years old at the time. Lisa Morgan was seventeen years old cruising around with some friends out robbing people. She asked the girl to give up her tan leather coat. She refused, and Morgan shot her.
Ethan was sentenced to ten years probation. Money bought him no jail time. Ethan received rehab for only a year. He is no longer in rehab but he is now working for his dad. Lisa was sentenced to life. Money didn’t buy her out of jail time. She was up for probation for several times but she got declined each time. Lisa is still in jail until this day.
Ethan parents were rich and let him got away with anything. He had a truck at a young age because his parents didn’t want to drive him around. Lisa parents were not rich. Her mother killed the father and brother. Lisa told the officer that the ghetto made her do it.
My opinion on all of this, I think Ethan should’ve got more than rehab. He deserved jail time also, he hurt too many people. I also think it’s unfair that money bought his way out of a lot of things. Lisa should’ve got less jail time instead of life. Lisa should be able to receive probation.
