Assertion Journal 15

Teiresias reaches out with the reader by explaining that a good man knows to admit when he is wrong with certain situations and will try to fix the problems that the person causes. Teiresias states “The only crime is pride.” Teiresias explains that if an individual’s pride is so notable that they refuse to admit that they are wrong and that one individual could be committing the greatest wring compared to everyone else. That is when pride is a “crime” for a man and becomes a huge problem rather than the wrong.

Teiresias is indeed correct about the statement. The situation becomes worse when one does not attempt to fix the things that they were wrong and refuse to believe that their wrong. People tend to lie to not admit that they are in the wrong but they will find themselves in worse scenarios. I am positive that this happened at least once to everyone when we were a child including myself have lied to our parents about something that occurred that we simple like not cleaning up after ourselves. Then you will find yourself in worse scenarios when lying rather than telling the truth and clean up the mess. Instead of confessing that one is wrong becomes a larger problem rather than the original problem you began with.

All humans are not perfect and make mistakes is life. When one makes a mistake, it is their duty to try to fix it rather than making up a lie, which will make it worse for the individual. Teiresias makes it clear that a good man confesses their mistakes and will try to fix it. The mistakes can be simple or large but it is better to tell the truth than trying to lie out of the situation.
