The analysis of figure 1 show that the distance between the dots increase as the time increases. Every 5 dots on the ticky tape represents 0.1 seconds because the ticky tape. As the tennis ball starts to fall, the acceleration starts to increase due to gravity. As speed of tennis ball falling increases, I causes the paper moves faster as a result the dots are marked further apart. The acceleration of the tennis ball was calculated using the equation used in figure 2. The total acceleration of all the intervals were added together and divided by 4 to find the average acceleration throughout the fall of the tennis ball. The acceleration of the tennis ball is 0.6075m.s-2. Figure 3 shows that there wasn’t a constant speed throughout drop of the tennis ball as there is no straight line in the graph. Between 0.0 and 0.1 there was a slow increase in speed however between 0.1 and 0.2 there was a sudden increase in speed which was constant to 0.3. However, between 0.3 and 0.4, the speed very slightly started decrease. There was a sudden increase in the speed between 0.4 and 0.5 .

The acceleration due to gravity of all objects no matter the mass is 9.8 m/s2 because of Newton’s second law, how much an object accelerates for a certain net force. Newton’s second law can be shown as Force Net= Mass of object × Acceleration. When an object is falling, it is not encountering a significant resistance of air as it is falling under the sole influence of gravity. For example if a 3.5kg brick was to be dropped compared to a 58.8g tennis ball, the acceleration of both the objects would be the exact same because of the gravitational force. Although, the brick has more inertia, the increased mass causes an inverse effect upon the acceleration of the brick. Hence the direct effect of greater force on the brick is counterbalanced by the inverse effect of the greater mass of the brick. The result of acceleration for dropping the tennis ball is 6.075m.s-2. The result did not reach the acceleration due to gravity which was 9.8m.s-2, because the tennis ball
