The Classroom or the Web?

Everyone has potential to excel and learn as there are no restrictions on getting an education. Getting an education and having an urge to continually learn is beneficial during our entire lives. An education also grooms communication skills as well as getting one prepared for the future. Everyone strives to gain education the way he or she feels comfortable. Today, more than ever, there are more diverse ways than ever to access higher education. Students can study online as well as in the class room. Both the systems have their pros and cons but overall benefits of both cannot be compromised.

When the debate comes between selecting between web and the class room  learning  environment for getting education then it is pertinent to point out that  online learning is easy to acquire and provides an easy way to obtain knowledge while sitting at your place you can access your homework, time table, scores and more. But on the other hand Classroom environment provides interaction among the students which lead to open sharing of ideas. First hand interaction with the teacher also allows for the free idea sharing. One can get the answer of the question on the spot and clarify the confusion by sharing with teacher and students. In terms of infrastructure for web study one only needs to have a separate place and other facilities only a standard PC is required. Though for taking class room education one have to be vigilant and particular while going to school, college or a university to attend the class at a specific time. Information can easily be transferred in very short span of time. (Rico & Vinagre, 2000) Whereas it limits the interaction between the students due to which effective understanding cannot be made because as in classrooms a student’s raises a question regarding the topic which results in class discussion which ultimately improve the understanding of the students regarding relevant topic. It also hinders the skill development among the students. Further more work can be done to study the relationship between online learning and its impact on the overall education standard of an individual can be assessed by making comparison and differences between web learning and class room learning. (Mosquera, 2001)
