They are 5 leadership behaviours that had been identified by Kouzes and Posner , that is also known as “The Five Practices of Exemplary Leadership Model”. The 5 leadership behaviour is Model the Way up , Inspired a Shared Vision , Challenge the Process , Enable Other to Act and Encourage the Heart .
Model way up , is where the leader should establish their principle in concerning he way people has to be treated and the way goals should be pursued . The leader must create a standard and then gave an example so the other can follow . Because the prospect of complex change and overwhelm people and block their action . Firstly , they will set the interim goal so people can achieve small wins and they can worked harder so they can go toward to the larger objective . They will uncover the bureaucracy when it impedes action. Example when people don’t know where to go or how do they get there , they will put up a signpost and they will create opportunities for victory .
Inspired a shared vision . The leader passionately believe that they can make difference . They can create new idea and unique image of what the organization can become in the future . through their magnetism and persuasion , the leader will include others in their dreams . They breathe life in to their vision and they will get people to see the exciting possibility for their future .
Challenge the process . Leader will search opportunities to change the status quo and also looking for innovative way so they can improve the organization (they do experiment and take risk) . The leader know the risk taking involves mistake and failure , but they will still accept the inevitable disappointments as learning opportunities .
Enable other to act . The leader make collaboration and build spirited teams , so they can actively involve the other .Leader know when they respect each other it will sustain extraordinary effort in a team .They strive to create an atmosphere in trusting
