II. The Benefits of Internet Meetings
a. Increased Focus on Topic
i. Everyone is looking at the same thing, focusing the groups attention to the task at hand.
ii. With only one person speaking at a time, about the project, it heightens group awareness about different opinions.
b. No Travel Time
i. Without driving, it saves not only time, but gas!
ii. Less time driving, means more meeting time.
c. Don't even have to get dressed
i. If someone is ill, they can still make the meeting.
ii. Nakedness is next to godliness.
III. The Downfalls of Internet Meetings
a. No face-to-face communication.
i. Sometimes it's difficult to get a point across without gestures or expressions.
ii. Without the ability to draw out a concept, it forces you to be more descriptive verbally.
b. Easily Distracted
i. Life continues while at the home office, with kids and spouses.
ii. With no one to supervise, the possibility of social loafing increases.
c. Computer problems.
i. Installing software and getting people all able to internet meet costs upfront time.
ii. If the computer goes down, you are unreachable and unable to attend meetings.
IV. What Software to use?
a. Windows Netmeeting (Free with Windows)
i. Excellent program for 'Desktop Sharing' and file sharing.
ii. Also handles 1-on-1 voice communications well.
b. Ventrilo (Free client, server $25 a month)
i. "Walkie-Talkie" type program
ii. Excellent for keeping only one person talking at a time.
c. Project Development Program
i. Word and Powerpoint can be viewed by all at the same time.
ii. Decisions and Ideas are discussed at the time of implementation.
V. What Hardware to use?

i. With headphones to hear your colleagues.
ii. Microphone to talk to them.

i. Video can help with supervision.
