“Honk! Boom! Ring! Ring! Screech! Stop! Bam!” Everyday the world flows with clamor from work, serious issues, and problem more and more concerned with these affairs, which leads us to form a place of comfort to just relax and be at peace with ourselves. The beach, bookstore, library, and forest are some of the places that we look to for comfort. The place that brings me comfort would be Oyster Creek Park.

My former high school, John Foster Dulles, is located about a mile from highway six. When you turn right on to highway six, you come to Oyster Creek Park on the right. Oyster Creek is a park filled with old growth pines, scrub habitat and full-fledged pine Flatwoods with mangroves fringe along Oyster Creek. The creek is a slim body of water that’s about 17 feet wide, and it flows and subsides from the rough, greenish-brown, misshaped rocks to either land or sea. In the front of the park is a pond filled with cluster of turtles, different types of birds, duck and fishes. Over the pond is a 20-foot long, 10 feet wide brown wooden bridge that goes upward and down like a hill.

When ever I stroll through the entrance down the sturdy bridge. My eyes slowly take in the fresh grown pine trees looming over the pond from both sides of the bridge. They swayed gentle in the breeze. The ducks and swans swimming playfully in the pond as if they never been in to the water before. The jaded baby turtles are floating and paddling tentatively through the water. The birds are soaring in the sky and some perched on the branches of the pine trees, pecking at each other. Far over in the pond was an alligator gliding cautiously in the pond, looking for something to eat. I smiled at the scenery before me. Then I closed my eyes gently to savor the moment.

While closing my eyes, I hear the ruffles of the leaves dancing in the wind. I listen to the whispers of the gentle breeze, and the water rushing against the rocks below. They calm my inner soul. I hear the sweet laughter of children playing tag with each other. The charming melodies from the blue jays filled me with rapture.

I took a deep breath, and the scent of the pine trees enveloped me. As I walked deeper in the park, the blooming sunflowers started to empower the scent of the pine trees. I slowly bend over to touch the golden sunflowers
