The Red Cross, TESCO Corp, Beck and Masten, and Michelson Realty are four very different organizations with some similarities within: their organizations involvement and responsibility to their community, the factors that have influenced their social responsibility strategies of their organizations, and their social initiative and ethical or moral effects. These companies are different yes, within sales, employees and product; but they are also operated the same no matter the degree of their diversity.
A brief history on each company starting with The Michelson Organization, Michelson Realty is a management company that manages apartment communities, what they do best is manage their properties and strives with excellence. With 36 managed properties nationwide delivering a commitment to service, their quality of their service is Dependable, Evident, Thoughtful, effective, and responsive. (Aragon, 2011)
Secondly, who does not know of the Red Cross, it is an organization that provides aid to the people within any community in need. They lead in taking the initiative to helping others in a community to help rebuild anything that is needed. Here are some examples of what the Red Cross stands for, helping people who are victims to natural disasters like, hurricanes, earthquakes, and etc. (Red Cross, 2011)
Looking for a Car, well Beck and Masten is a Houston Buick and GMC automotive dealer. Beck & Masten north has been the number one GMC dealer in the nation for the last six years (Beck and Masten, 2011). The company provides many services all dealing with customer service. The dealership involvement and responsibility to the community is to provide customers with great deals, great service, and unbeatable value.
Finally our concluding company is TESCO Corp. TESCO Corp is a global leader in the design, manufacture and service of technology based on solutions for the upstream energy industry. They are a dynamic team of more than 1,600 TESCO employees work daily in 23 countries around the world. (Quick Facts, 2011)
The Red Cross, Tesco Corp, Beck and Masten, and Michelson Realty are involved in their communities in different ways. Michelson Realty has some communities that host events, such as "Getting to know your neighbor". This event brings the people within the community together and allows them to meet and greet one another. The Red Cross' involvement within their community, they teach and prepare communities in case of a tragedy or disaster. The similarity lies between Beck and Masten and Tesco Corp. Both companies are involved with local organizations within their city. Beck and Masten owners and employees are active supporters for Habitat for Humanity. Habitat for Humanity is an organization that builds homes in the event of a disaster such as a hurricane, tornado, or flood. Tesco Corp also gives back to their local city by volunteering once a month to Meals on Wheels. The employees either prepare food or deliver food for those that are disabled.
Some factors that influence the social responsibility strategies of the organization within Tesco Corp and Michelson Realty are the safety and well-being, and concern of their employees/residents. Michelson Realty run background checks on potential residents, which consist of a credit check, search for felonies, high degree misdemeanors, and job security. Following the approval there are numerous rules and regulations. Their overall strategy is to help maintain is peaceful or and reasonability to the residents. Tesco Corp does extensive training for their employees for those that either builds the top drives or case drills, and for those that do the actual drilling. Their responsibility is to keep their employees safe. Tesco Corp is the leader in design, manufacturing, and service of top drives and case drilling. The employees must also follow rules and regulations to avoid a major accident or unfortunately, even death.
