The Republic of Ireland
In my opinion the most politically and economically stable country to live in is The Republic of Ireland. Politically, they are more advanced than the United States and any other country for that matter! Politics of Ireland (the Republic of Ireland) take place in a framework of a parliamentary representative democratic republic. The UachtarÐ"ÐŽn (President) is the head of state. The Taoiseach (Prime Minister) is the head of government, and of a pluriform multi-party system. Executive power is exercised by the government. Legislative power is vested in both the government and the Oireachtas, the bicameral national parliament, which consists of DÐ"ÐŽil Ð"‰ireann and Seanad Ð"‰ireann. The Judiciary is independent of the executive and the legislature. While there are a number of important political parties in the state, the political landscape is dominated by Fianna FÐ"ÐŽil and Fine Gael, historically opposed and competing entities. The state is a member of the European Union.
Politics of the United States takes place in a framework of a presidential republic, whereby the President of the United States is head of state, head of government, and of a two-party legislative and electoral system. The federal government shares sovereignty with the state governments, with the Supreme Court balancing the rights of each. The executive branch is headed by a president and is independent of the legislature. Legislative power is vested in the two chambers of Congress, the Senate and the House of Representatives. Judicial power is exercised by the judicial branch (or judiciary), comprised of the Supreme Court and lower federal courts. The judiciary's function is to interpret the United States Constitution as well as the federal laws and regulations. This includes resolving disputes between the executive and legislative branches.
