The Rich: Saints or Sinners
Being rich has many advantages, but it also has some disadvantages. Being rich and having a great deal of money will buy you many things. What is more important than having money and being rich and unhappy or being poor and having peace of mind.
Being rich has advantages such as having connections with politics. Politicians can help you get overcome many obstacles in life such as getting help when you are in trouble. One example of this is Paris Hilton. She was sentenced to jail for reckless driving while being intoxicated offense; her family used their status to excuse her from having to spend any more time in jail. If she was just an average citizen she would have never been given this preferential treatment.
Another advantage of being rich is that you can buy anything you want. You don’t have to worry about paying bills and wondering where the next dollar is going to come from. You can go anywhere you please and be accepted because of your status of having wealth. A quote taken from “being Rich” by Jake Santiago, Nov 5, 1998 states “Being Rich is wonderful. Money lets you overcome poverty but god will overcome your destiny”.
A disadvantage of being rich is that most of them are poor in heart. Some have no personality and only think of themselves and have no concern and respect for others. The only concern they have is what they can get for themselves. As stated by Katherine Spyron in the Article-“Rich people are the poorest in heart and the richest in hate fear of not being loved and full of stress. None of them are really happy” what is the reason for that? Money does not bring happiness. Rich people are either saints or sinners as per Charles Watts that symbolically speaking “Saints are those who depend upon the potency of an enlightened and cultivated humanity for the inspiration to ethical advancement feeling assured”. This statement relates to how the rich carry on their lives. They only care about their own advancement and push anyone aside who might get in their way. To remove hindrances out of their way they can also play dirty politics or take someone’s life.
As portrayed in commentary “The Rich Man and Lazarus” from spiritual notes, it states that things are represented in a description of the different states of good. Thing are presented in a spiritual note of the different states of good and bad.
