Argumentative/Research Essay Proposal
Subject: The Rise of College Tuition
Interest: As a college student who is planning on furthering my career, it is a really important topic to me. My sister is currently going to Oregon State and the tuition there is insame. I also know a lot of people who are struggling to pay tuition even when they are just going to a community college. With little to no help from Fafsa, it makes it hard for all college/university students.
Thesis: How The Rise of College Tuition detrimental to college students and the future.
Structure: How I’m thinking of organizing my essay is by stating with my smy claim and thesis and go into more detail of my topic. I will include statistics, historic information of the rise of college tuition, and possibility people’s experience of the current situation. Adding that I’m also a college student and how it relates to me will be crucial in this essay. I will most likely have a call to action to make my argument clear.
Audience: Things I will have to explain is how college tuition has raise in the last few years, statistics, and college tuition range in the US. This topic will be relevant to current college students, but to on-coming college students and parents who don’t have knowledge; I will have to add some basic information for them.
Sources: Most of my sources will come from articles in the web that relates to my topic. I will also use credible testimonies from current college students who have spoken about this current situation and news articles. Statistics and anecdotes will be used to strengthen my credibility in my topic. My sources will play a big role in my essay because of the information that needs to be presented to give myself a good ethos. Without a variety of sources, it will make it hard to inform my audience of the situation.
