I.THE STORY OF AN HOUR :

1. Mrs.Mallard first reaction to the news , feelings toward husband ? .

When she first enter the rooms :

_ Suffering from physical exhaution by his death

_ Seeing all beauty of life before her : trees are aquiver with spring life , delicous breath of rain , notes of a distant song , sparrows twitering …

• Although she got depressed by husband’s death , she stills enjoyed beauty of life
• She did not totally loved her husband , just a little bit of lost .

When she has done crying & faced internal conflicts

_ Thinking about herself : young , calm face , being repressed , a dull stares in her eyes ( not thinking ) , being suppressed of intelligent thought .

_ Feeling something coming : her bosom roses & felt tumultous .

_ Trying to beat it back with powerless will & open mind ➔ Later be possessed : “ free , free , free”, she did not stop to ask if it were or were not a montrous joy that held her . 

When she was conquered by freedom 

_ Feeling a little bit guilty but later overcome it : she would weep gain when she saw the kind , tender hands ….. had never looked saye with love …. long possession of years to come that would belong to her … open and spread her arms to welcome it …..

_ Illumination : no powerful will bending hers …. impose a private will uopn a fellow creature … no less a crime 

_ A desire of self-assertion : “ Free ! Body an sould free !.”

_ Enjoyed life & reject to let her sister in the room : Go away . She was drinking a very elixir of life , running riot … spring days …. Summer … would be her own … only yesterday she thought life was long …
