Jim Marrs Unmasks The 9/11 Attacks

Seven years ago, the unthinkable happened. The September 11, 2001 attacks, as we know it, were a series of coordinated suicide attacks by al-Qaeda upon the United States. I remembered on the date of the 9/11 attacks, the footage of the World Trade Center collapsing was shown over and over again. At the very moment I saw the World Trade Center collapse, I had a thought in mind. I remembered my friend and I had a chat few days afterward and I told him that I think the collapse looked like a demolition. My friend told me that he is sure the US media will have in depth coverage of the cause of the collapse of World Trade Center. Due to the massive coverage on the 9/11 attack, I grew tired of watching the same thing repeatedly and eventually, I stopped watching topics related to the 9/11 attacks. As time goes by, I have completely forgotten my observation of the footage showing the collapse of WTC until one day, my uncle lend me a DVD, Fahrenheit 911. It was a documentary filmed by Michael Moore which hints the event of the 911 attack was planned and executed by our own Government. Though I found the documentary intriguing, I felt more research is needed before I jump into any conclusion. This lead me to purchase the book “The Terror Conspiracy: Deception, 9/11 and the Loss of Liberty”, by Jim Marrs, a journalist and former US Army service member. In this book, Jim investigated the inconsistencies, inaccuracies, distortions, and errors that are widely reported as gospel regarding the attacks. His book is backed by more than 400 credible sources, including firefighters, police officers, and civilians who were at the World Trade Center that day and architects, engineers, FBI and CIA agents, politicians, and mainstream news stories. Jim is successful at making a compelling case that the US Government is hiding the truth of the 911 attack from the general public. However, there are two problems that bother me in this book. First, in many cases, Jim made statements without definite proof. Also, some sections have minimal ties or even are completely irrelevant to the 9/11 conspiracy.

Jim Marrs successfully identifies holes, discrepancies, misrepresentations, lies, omissions, etc. in the official 9/11 Commission Report. He built a solid case that completely crushes the Government’s story on the 911 attack on every level. For example, under the section “What really happened at the Pentagon”, the official story stated a third hijacked airliner, Flight 77, was flown into America’s military command center creating a fire that killed more than 185 persons and caused a section of the west wall to collapse. However, many people in the Pentagon at the time of the attack believed a bomb or bombs had exploded inside the building. Following were some of the direct quotes from Jim’s book; “A bomb had gone off. I could smell the cordite. I knew explosives had been set off somewhere,” stated witness Don Perkal. Another witness, John Bowman, said, “most people knew it was a bomb.” “It smelled like cordite, or gun smoke,” recalled Gilah Goldsmith while Mike Slater said “I knew it was a bomb or something.” Also, Jim said, “as of today, no one had produced any photographs of Boeing 757 fuselage, jet engines, seats, luggage, or other recognizable debris.” Later Jim asked “why has no one within the government produced any photograph of the wreckage of Flight 77?” In addition, there are the startling problems with the holes in the Pentagon. Photos taken immediately after the impact on the Pentagon, before the walls collapsed 30 minutes later, show a hole that was too small to accommodate the girth of a 757, even if you carefully parked it there. The author stated, “The Boeing 757 has a normal wingspan of 124 feet, 10 inches and a height of a 44 feet, 6 inches and the exterior body width is 12 feet, 6 inches. Yet the hole in the Pentagon cited as the entry point was under 20 feet wide, barely enough to accommodate the width of the craft’s body. Also, the hole’s height was about 20 feet, less than half the height of the 757.” Thirdly, the time of the attack has also been modified several times by Pentagon spokespersons. The first reported the explosion at 9:48am, and over the intervening months, the time was lowered to 9:37am, as stated in the 9/11 Commission Report . However, Jim stated that neither of these times comes close to what appears to be the correct time of 9:32am, as determined by witnesses at the scene. Jim concluded this section by repeating his stand; simply showing the public the wreckage of the aircraft could end such conjecture. However, over these years, such photos still had not been forth coming. This is very true. The Government can simply provide photos of wreckages of the flight and end all the conspiracy theories against the attack on Pentagon, yet, we can only find photos of wreckages online that do not look like anything. This will only cause the public continuing to speculate that the Government is hiding the truth from us.

Under the section “Explosions at the World Trade Center”, Jim questioned why did the destruction of the World Trade Center towers appear more like a controlled demolition than terrorist-caused destruction? Stories from dozens of firefighters, police officers, architects, engineers, and civilians who were at the World Trade Center on the date of the attack indicate that there were definitely bombs planted in the WTC tower before the attacks. Following are only partial examples of the stories;

According to Van Romero, Vice president for research at the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology and a former director of the Energetic Materials Research and Testing Center told the Albuquerque Journal on the date of the 911 attack that televised images of the collapse of the WTC towers suggested that explosives were used to create a controlled demolition. However, within 10 days, Romero reversed himself and told the Albuquerque Journal that “Certainly the fire is what caused the building to fail.”

Loue Cacchioli, a fifty-one-year-old fireman assigned to Engine 47 in Harlem. “We were the first ones in the second tower after the plane struck. I was taking firefighters up in the elevator to the twenty-fourth floor to get in position to evacuate workers. On the last trip up a bomb went off. We think there were bombs set in the building.”

Auxiliary Fire Lt. Paul Isaac, Jr. also mentioned bombs, telling Internet reporter Randy Lavello that New York firemen were very upset by what they considered a
