The Things They Carried
Eddie carried a bracelet given to him by his best friend, Cameron, who lives in California. It was the last thing he have him before Eddie moved across the country. He always carried the bracelet around his wrist for about two years. He stopped wearing it because the bracelet eventually broke, but he never stopped caring it. Cameron sent him a new bracelet every two month for a year, and Eddie put all of the new bracelets in the case he bought just to put the bracelets and other things mailed to him by Cameron and other friends from California. Eddie also carried necklace given to him by his friend Taylor who also lives in California.
What Eddie carried depended on where he was going, when he went to school he carried textbooks, pens, pencils, notebooks, paper, and other miscellanies items. On some days he carried a lunch box with food and water. Other days he didn’t carry the lunch box with food and water because he just didn’t have the time to get it ready. When he went to a pond or lake Eddie carried a fishing rod and reel and a tackle box. Eddie carried a grudge against his brothers who always tried to one up each other at everything from video games to sports. Eddie carried his biggest grudge against his older brother who beat him at almost everything.
Eddie's most precious items he carried are the silver dollar and a pocket knife Eddie gave to his by his father who passed away a few years back. The knife Eddie carried is a limited edition Teddy Roosevelt buffalo knife Eddie gave his father for Christmas of 2011. Eddie also carried a 1949 silver dollar he had given his father as a gift for his coin collection. Eddie carried a picture of his father with him to remember his father.
Eddie carried a variety of different things as he got older and on what he was doing or where he was going. Eddie always carried a few things like his pocket knife, phone, and wheatback penny for good luck, but even as Eddie gets older he always carries the silver dollar and Teddy Roosevelt buffalo knife he gave his father.
