This unit will emphasise the complexities within the interaction between the three sectors of Business, Society and Government. It will outline the actions of business, responses for society and role of government through critical evaluation. It will allow me to take a different perspective, approach and view when going into the business environment. |
- In your own words, explain your understanding of the following terms.
a) What is business? |
Business is repeatable process that creates and delivers something of value that other people want or need at a price they are willing to pay. The process in a way satisfies the customers’ needs and expectations so that the business brings in enough profit. It is the creator of employment. |
b) What is Society? |
A Society is a group of people that interact with one another, share a common territory and culture. It is a group of people who share the same interests and identify with one another. |
c) What is Government? |
A Government is a person or a group of people that have the authority to govern a country or state. |
- What is the relationship between BUSINESS and SOCIETY?
Business is a part of society. If there are non-market interactions between business and society then businesses can have a both positive and negative impact on society. The actions of a society also infuse and affect if a business is going to prosper of fail. Government also workplace regulations to protect employees and workers. |
- What is the relationship between BUSINESS and GOVERNMENT?
Businesses must follow rules and regulation of Government. The Government have also introduced Free Trade Agreements. Businesses also pay key roles to establish conditions in the workplace. |
