Time and the Machine
Over time, the human race has started to obsess over time, which makes life very stressful. Before the people did not pay attention to time they were on their own schedule. Now, we are not on our own schedule we are on times schedule. This is very stressful; we constantly are trying to meet the deadline of time.
Back in the day the human race did now pay attention to time, they scheduled there day for what would work for them. This made things easier on them. They were not trying to meet deadlines, appointments, or instant gratification for things. If you ordered something from an artisan you would have to wait because he would work on the time that suited him and his schedule. In modern times they were aware of majestic movement and cosmic time. They focused on sunrise, noon, and sunset everyday instead of every hour, minute and second of everyday. They noticed the equinox and solstice; spring, summer, autumn, and winter. They were not on a daily or seasonal schedule like we are today.
Nowadays, we obsess over time. We pay attention to every hour, minute, second, day, week, month, year, and so on. We have an event or schedule for our week already planned before the week has even come. We even schedule months ahead. This causes a great amount of stress. Things happen that we could never plan for and this causes stress because “we don’t have time for it.” Traffic, death, car accidents, illnesses are just some of the things we could not ever plan for so when things happen and interfere with our premade schedule it causes problems. Nowadays we rely on machines to do the work of humans because it’s more efficient or faster. This pushes people out of industries and takes over jobs that people could use to support their families with. We rely on machines to do things that are cherish able to us because “we don’t have time.” They have inventions so you don’t have to hand feed your newborn baby, machines to drive your car and so on.
