Term Paper 1 - Tishman Hotel Corporation
Once a student of the Conrad N. Hilton School of Hotel Management and now a Sr. Vice President of one of the biggest companies in hotel management. Kim Greca a Dean's List graduate of the University of Houston, Greca graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Hotel & Restaurant Management. Greca started work with a numerous jobs, which includes employment with Hilton Hotels where she held several positions at the corporate and property level, including front office, sales, and human resources. As you can see that Mrs. Greca did not just graduate into the position she is in now, it took hard work and determination to get to the place she is in now. She then started work with Walt Disney World Swan and World Dolphin Hotels moving from, Sales Manager at the Swan, to Sales Manager at the Dolphin, to finally being promoted to Director of Sales at the Walt Disney World Dolphin.
Tishman Hotel Corporation also known as THC has grown over the years to become one of the best companies with the most astonishing hotels around the world. THC is a hotel developer, owner, and operator. The two focuses that THC stands by to make THC one of the best and unique in the hospitality industry is "ownership mentality and bottom-line focus" (Tishman) and "vertical integration" (Tishman). These two are THC's main philosophies and qualifications for success.
Ownership mentality and bottom-line focus in summary to them means that if you take part in owning a THC hotel. The do not allow any of the owners to just invest in the property, sit there, and wait for the hotel to perform. They want owners to be on each step with the Hotel and make it perform to the best. If owners want any change it can only be done to benefit the "hotels performance and value" (Tishman).
