TITLE: EARLY FILIPINOS AND THEIR CULTURE

SUBTOPIC: USE OF METALS, EARLY ARTS AND MUSICS, WRITING AND LITERATURE

REFLECTION

In early settlements, metals were used as tools in weaving, woodcarving, and jewelry-making. It is also the results in improvements in farming, fishing, hunting house and boating, and provide the impetus for the beginning of local mining activity. Today, use of metals is very helpful in the people. It is the first basic needs to make machines to help the workers to easily finish their works. Metals are important because of its many uses. In early arts and music’s, as early as 500 A.D the musical instrument was made in bamboo. Some of them are bamboo flutes, bamboo guitar, musical logs, and gongs. But today, some of the musical instruments were made in electric. Example of this is the electric guitar, piano, bass drum and violin. This instrument was used of the Filipinos to produce different songs for the different song of life especially songs made when in the stage were the two people separate to each other. Early arts, tattoos were the best bodily beauty to them. Because, tattoos was the sign that shows war records. For them, when a man kill more enemies in a battle his body would definitely more tattoos. But on today’s generation, tattoos was made just to be a design and not shown any signs that they kill a man or other Filipinos. It is also their way to attract some people. Writing and literature in early settlements was used as record trading transactions. But today, writing is use not just for the record trading transaction but for academic skills that translate into any career field. In literature, it expands the mind of people to do some oral traditions that can help people to express their ideas/thoughts and their emotions.

REACTION

    In early settlements, Filipinos passed through several stages of development in the process of developing their culture even before the coming of the Spaniards. Based on what I reported, it is important that every Filipinos should know the meaning of the things that gives meaning to our life. Filipinos need to expand their knowledge just to improve and use the things that we have from early settlements up until now. People should not to forget these things because it has a big role to us. It help us to easily finished our works, expand our knowledges, and easily understand every little things we have and discover any ideas to help our country to improve and maintain the importance of the things that given to us of our ancestors.
