To pursues successful future in the college

In his article, Ð'ÐŽÐ'§A Perception Gap Over StudentsÐ'ÐŽÐ'¦ Preparation,Ð'ÐŽÐ'Ё Alvin P. Sanoff said the college professors donÐ'ÐŽÐ'¦t think high school students are ready for college classes as really approved by their high school teachers

As a result, high school students usually failed when they just start the college because some of them claimed that they learned nothing from high school. Is that the high school teacherÐ'ÐŽÐ'¦s fault? Eager to minimize this disagreement, Sanoff recommends college students let their former high school teachers know how to teach students knowledge that they really need to learn and useful to face more difficult college classes. Apparently high school teachers are more inclined to listen to students than they are to college professors. It seems high school teachers need to take this responsibility of making sure that students are ready in college. How do these teachers need to change their teaching in order to help their students? The main element is student her/himself needs to know how adjusted their learning attitude and to be motivated toward to fit in college classes and professorsÐ'ÐŽÐ'¦ expectations.

Before I start to give more details to explain, allow me to describe how differences in high school and high school are.

We might say the academic differences between high schools and colleges are similar to the differences between a ceremonious symphony orchestra and a singer.

For example, a ceremonious symphony requires team work, each instrument needs to practice with others, and most important role is conductor. A conductor plays the role in high school as a teacher, she/he needs to coordinate, monitor each studentÐ'ÐŽÐ'¦s grade and behavior. In an orchestra, the practice time is structured by others; it just like high school classes schedule system. Then, an independent singer requires professional skills to be accomplished by self-practice. ItÐ'ÐŽÐ'¦s just like college academic environment; itÐ'ÐŽÐ'¦s your responsibility to take care of your classes and spend more time to studying because the classes are harder than high school. Nobody watches you as a high school teacher does, you schedule your time by yourself. You must balance your responsibilities and always set the time front.

Furthermore, in orchestra a conductor helps performer to solve their problem such as how to follow beat. In high school, teachers are often available for talking with students before, during, or after class. For a singer, her/his record director usually busy on producing other singerÐ'ÐŽÐ'¦s record, so when a singer has some problems with singing, they only have limited time to help them. In college, a professor expect that you to attend their scheduled office hours if student has any question.
