"The Adventures of Tom Sawyer", by Mark Twain, is a great book. The story starts out in the town of St. Petersburg, Missouri. The story begins as Tom climbs in his window after a long night of scheming with his friends. A couple of days after this, he starts hanging out with his good friend, Huckleberry Finn, the local outcast of the town, he lives with no rules, and no parents. He wanders the town and sleeps anywhere that suits him, and eats the same. He was the son of the town drunk and had no one to tell him what to do. Eventually the two become "engaged," but Ton screws it up when he accidentally mentions his former "engagement" to Amy Lawrence while talking with Becky. The two get into a fight and end up not speaking with each other. This ends when Tom takes Becky's punishment for ripping their teachers anatomy book.
Meanwhile, the whole town is talking of the murder of Dr. Robinson and the accusations of Muff Potter. Tom knows he cannot let the innocent Muff go to jail so as the trial comes to a close Tom testifies, proving Injun Joe guilty. The search for Injun Joe Quickly begins.
