Argument Essay

Public school students should/should not be required to wear uniforms. It has been said that most of the school violence has been started over gangs. If you are in a gang you are more than likely to fight. How would a gang know you’re from another gang if you all look the same? The answer is if you tell them. If every student is dressed in the schools uniform, no student will “represent” their colors. Parents won’t waste their every last dime on designer clothing; their children can’t wear it to school. With all these factors, students in public school should wear uniforms.

How likely is a child going to get “jumped” for wearing the wrong color; if he wears uniform? The sadness of it all is even if a child that is neutral, just for wearing the color red or blue they are subject to a “beat-down”. By bring uniforms into public school you are decreasing the risk of innocent children being beating for wearing the wrong colors. Every child in the school is neutral if they all wear uniforms. No one can get mistaking for being a “gang-banger”.

Parents love and hate the back to school season. They love it because their children are occupied for most of the day. The hate it because it’s so expensive! They are not only spending money on clothing but on supplies as well. If their children are in public school, they may want designer clothing. Designer clothing is very pricey; especially for children. They use it one year and it’s out of fashion the next. Sneakers have become a battle of “who has the best sneakers”.
