Every Sunday after September 9th, millions of football fans stay up past their bedtime to watch one of America's favorite sports. Don't get me wrong, these aren't the only die-hard-fans either. There are millions of fans that have paid good money for their sideline tickets. They paint their entire body to match their team's colors. Not only do they dedicate their entire weekend as well, but they paid for the hotel room, the gasoline, and the tickets that they needed to make the trip to see their team play. They stand out in the different types of weather and they will not leave the stadium until their team has finished the game.

However, I'm not saying that basketball fans aren't die hard fans either. They will also drive any distance to cheer their team on. They will take off work to watch their beloved basketball team run up and down the court. They cheer for the Michael Jordan of their team and hope that their team does awesome in the playoffs. They buy any apparel that has their team's logo printed on it. They also spend money buying season tickets, hotel rooms, gasoline, and anything else that they might possibly need to make sure that they are there to watch their team. They dream about meeting the star player and hope that they are that lucky player that gets to shoot a free throw for either a new car or the chance to meet their idol.

It can be pretty hard to try and throw a football in the rain, much less having to run on slick turf. However, basketball is always played inside so the only thing that the weather can really affect is whether or not the team can make it to the game. On the other hand, basketball players don't need any kind of padding. Even though it's not as much of a physical sport as football is, there's still a chance that a player could get injured.
