During the twenties America entered prosperous era; after World War I it was a great time for change. Women were voting for the first time, and big there were differences with the fashion style compared to women before the twenties. Most of women before the twenties were more conservative and acted more like ladies. The mid twenties main features of women's fashion clothing were short skirts dropped waistlines, and plus it was the time period was "bobbed" hair. Dancing and music is another motivation for women during the twenties to being more active and socialized. There are many different changes between the twenties women and the old traditional women in the society.

The great changes in the twenties switched women from the traditional to more fashionable. Because of the freedom for women, clothing is changing while women are changing their role in the society. America was influenced by society, and women were speaking in slang words; and many of them are still use today. In the old society, women were not allowed to show skin from their dresses, but in the twenties, younger age ladies start to show skin with their short skirts and dresses. However, older women were still wearing old fashion conservative dresses, and believe that the new fashion was unacceptable.

Another excitement in the twenties is the decade that cosmetics were born, including red lipstick, powders, eyebrow pencils, eye shadows and nail polish. The twenties women were considered the flappers. The typical flappers were young women with short hair and short skirts. Often flappers will expose their arms as well as their legs from the knees down, because of the kind of baggy dresses they wore. With the short hair under the cloche hat, and they will usually decorated with a pin in the front of the hat. Flappers symbolize a revolution in fashion and they embodied the spirit of the Jazz Age in the twenties. When women has their powder, lipstick and eye shadows on,
