Executive summary

T.Y.P.E Magazine is a new business startup, which is designed to deliver the latest business, economic and financial news as well as recruitment information, tips, company and industry information. It is the first English language business magazine on the Dutch market, which gives us a competitive advantage. Our magazine is based in The Hague, and aims at serving the Randstad area - Amsterdam, Rotterdam, The Hague, and Utrecht.

T.Y.P.E.* Magazine stands for quality and vision. We want to present our readers with an exciting, informative and creative product that will expand their knowledge and challenge their views. The magazine is divided into 12 sections, including an eMagazine. It will provide specific information on jobs and internships, industry overviews, tips, career options, as well as additional information, that is a part of today's life. T.Y.P.E Magazine will help college graduates and young professionals in those early stages of their careers.

Customers

T.Y.P.E* Magazine is targeted at young professionals(both Dutch citizens and internationals) at the age of 21 to 35. Our potential customer is an intercultural adaptive, open minded and trendy cosmopolitan. He/she is single or in a relationship; has strong opinion, is creative and energetic. On top of that he/she has a clear set of goals, however is ready to undertake initiative or action when it seems to be of interest. Our consumer is interested in economics, books and new experiences. We know that 26% of entire Dutch population is in age between 20-40 years old (that is 26% of 16,357,992=4,253,007 people). Of the population, 4% (=681,932 people) in The Netherlands are non-Dutch citizens. Since our potential customers are also students CBS states that students with a foreign background in higher education doubled in the past twelve years.

Management

T.Y.P.E* Magazine was established by five ambitious business graduates, each having various backgrounds. The team has extensive experience in finance, marketing and communications, and logistics. We have all undergone top-level management training and are able to lead our enterprise successfully. The administrative tasks have been divided into different departments each headed by one of the team members. The tasks have been allocated according to experience and personal characteristics.

Financial highlights

Most important to T.Y.P.E.* Magazine is the financial success which will be achieved through strict financial controls. Additionally, success will be ensured by offering a high-quality product with an interesting, unusual twist. T.Y.P.E.* Magazine will charge a premium (Ђ4.99), yet affordable price to enforce the feeling of high quality and trendy, edgy image. The market and financial analyses indicate that with a start-up expenditure of Ђ75,000, T.Y.P.E* Magazine can generate over Ђ357,096.92 in cash by quarter one, Ђ706,686.71 by quarter two, Ђ1,056276.51 by quarter three, and Ђ1,405,866.30 by end of year one. We will produce net profits of over 7.5% on sales by the end of year two. Profitability will be reached by year one.

1.2. Vision

Our long-term objective is to be recognized as the leading source of international business magazine with the intentions of extending our market to other countries. In the short term, we would like to achieve a growth of at least 5% within 5years, with an increase minimum 14% in copies released. Our aim is to make T.Y.P.E the number one portal, for men and women that are hungry for information and who want to keep up with the rapid changing business environment. Our cutting edge magazine will become the stepping-stone into the future.
