Unethical Human Experimentation

Today the understanding of the human anatomy is the best it has ever been. We are able to perceive the significance of our physical and mental well being. Our knowledge of human physiology and psychology has considerably widened over the years. Due to our new knowledge of physical and mental functions, scientists are now able to come up with different treatments. None of this would be possible without the experimentation of humans.

Throughout the years there is literally thousands of examples of humans performing experiments on other living humans, or as we know today as unethical human experimentation. The majority of these experiments take place in Nazi Germany, many of these studies were performed on Jewish people that were prisoners during the holocaust. A large number of the human experimentation resulted in death as well as debilitated patients.

There are studies of the human body that date back seventeen hundreds when doctors gave their slaves vaccines without telling the dangers or side effects that may occur from consuming the medicine. There are innumerable examples of unethical human experimentation throughout the world, but here are a few of them. In 1947 the CIA began their studies of LSD as a potential weapon for the use of American intelligence. Human subjects that were civilian and military are used with and without their knowledge. In nineteen seventy eight, experimental hepatitis B vaccine trials conducted by the CDC begin. These trials take place in New York, Los Angeles punctuations and San Francisco. Ads for research subjects specifically ask for homosexeual men. Another recorded 1981 being the first case of AIDS was confirmed in homosexual men in New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco, raising suspicions that the Aids virus were introduced to the men through the hepatitis B vaccine.

Human subject research has been in practice for centuries, simply seeming like our human rights have been thrown out of the window. The human rights are there to say that every individual has basic rights and freedoms. It is said that what other way is there is understand the human body than to take a little closer look at
