Picking a university is one of the most important decisions that you can make in your entire life. It is what usually determines what you will do for the rest of your life. What you study in college or university is usually what you will continue applying the rest of your life. How you make your money is also determined by the major you study. Your job is the most important aspect of your life since the money you earn is how you continue your life. Without money, you can’t live since you need food and other necessities to continue living. This is how important the decision is to your life.
While in the process of applying to college, you should take in a lot of factors. For me, I haven’t started deciding on what universities I will be considering, I have just compiled a list of the colleges that I can go to on the scholarship provided by the Ministry of Higher Education. This is comprised of many universities, like 20+ universities. I plan on eliminating them and applying to about five of them. Here in this essay I will be comparing the two most probably going to be on the list of five universities.
The first university I plan on applying to is Penn State University, PSU for short. PSU is a public university , which means its campus tends to be bigger and have much more students. This is a big factor in what I want in my university. I do not like small universities but I like big universities that have a variety of students and include diversity in many aspects. PSU is also a great research university, which attracts better and ingenious professors to teach there and research their stuff at the same time.
Penn State has an acceptance rate of 50.3%. This means that I have a good chance to enter. Also, the average GPA of accepted students is 3.59 and my comulitive GPA till now is 3.65 which is very good and will get me accepted to this university. I also have to take the SAT and do well on it to get in.
Living conditions vary state by state. Penn State is located in Pennsylvania. A reason I really like Penn State is because of its location. Pennsylvania is hot and humid in the summer, just like Kuwait. This means that I don’t have to adjust and it will be the norm for me. But in the winter temperature can reach -5 Celsius which means that I will be adjusting a bit in the winter.
Penn State has had a controversial event three years ago. A child abuser was caught abusing children. Although he was reported to the police, some administrators have known about this since 1980s and didn’t do anything. That
