Values Students are expected to follow
According to Michael Smith, (personal communication, February24th 2008) "the value of anything is what it is in that thing that makes us want to choose it, endorse it, prescribe it, enforce it, possess itÐ'.... Whatever it is Ð'-a thing, an action, an institution, a value is what makes it choice worthy." The values students are expected to follow at the University of Phoenix will be discussed in this paper.
Values
The University of Phoenix has in place a number of values that the students are expected to follow. Some of these values are: (a) Students are expected to conduct themselves ethically, honestly, and with integrity as responsible members of the University's academic community. (b) Students are expected to respect the rights and privileges of others and to foster an environment conducive to learning. (c) Students are accountable for their actions and are required to work independently, as well as collaboratively with teams, in achieving learning goals and objectives. (d) By virtue of membership in the University's academic community, students accept an obligation to abide by the Student's Code of Conduct. Conduct either on or off-campus, that is determined to impair, interfere, or obstruct the opportunities of others to learn or that disrupts the mission, processes or orderly function of the University will be deemed misconduct and will be deemed misconduct and will be subject to appropriate disciplinary action. There are many misconducts for which students are subject to disciplinary actions such as harassment, violation of any applicable professional codes of ethics or conduct, cheating, plagiarism to name a few.
