One man named Sam Walton had a small dream that turned him into a multi million hire. He thought that the world needed a discount store that offered everything you could imagine. He would name it Wal-Mart, many people cringe when they hear the word Wal-Mart and others it brings them happiness. Wal-Mart is a company that offers huge discounts to our nation on just about anything you could imagine. Wal-Mart is in the top ten fortune 500 companies and soon to be number 1. Many unions have tried to make Wal-Mart's across the nation unionized but have failed. Many people believe if Wal-Mart comes to a small town and decides to put a Wal-Mart supermarket in there town that it would close down businesses that are family owned that have been around for years. All these business owners will have to file for bankruptcy and then go and work for Wal-Mart. The reason Wal-Mart can offer such great prices is that they buy in such enormous bulk that other competitors can't afford to offer such low prices because they buy there things for more. Wal-Mart employs more than 1.4 million people and growing. All these employees are being under paid for what they are doing and Wal-Mart's full-time hourly employees average $9.75 an hour, doesn't this upset anyone?
I think that we should have Wal-Mart's where there is a large city that is growing, not in a small town that has those local businesses that have been around for years. That might put those businesses out of business because they can't offer low prices. Wal-Mart is becoming a monopoly; it is trying to conquer the world and has done it so far.
