One of the most controversial and debated issues today in the United States of America is the war on terror in both Iraq and Afghanistan. President George W. Bush and the American government began this war after the September 11 attacks on the World Trade Centers in 2001. Despite the aspersions that have accrued from many people in the United States, the war has continued in the Middle Eastern countries. Despite the opposition to the war, I believe the war on terror should continue, and the war and our troops there should be supported, not castigated or flouted.

About two hundred and thirty years ago, on July 4 of 1776, the founding fathers of the United States of America wrote the Declaration of Independence. According to this Declaration, it is "the right of the people to alter or to abolish" a government becomes destructive of their inalienable rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. The governments of Afghanistan and Iraq were destructing the inalienable rights of all human beings. By not going into the Middle East, we would be saying that these people, who have been oppressed by their tyrannical governments, just as our founding fathers were by Great Britain, are not human. Aren't all humans, man or woman, black or white, created equal? Shouldn't all humans be treated equally under the governments of their country? If we want to have all people treated equally, we have to work for it not only in the United States, but also throughout the rest of the world.

Many people have signs outside their houses, or bumper stickers on their cars that say, "Support our Troops." Many of those same people also have signs that say, "Boycott the War," or something derogatory and negative towards the war in the Middle East. However, the question for those people is, "what are our troops doing in Iraq and Afghanistan? The obvious answer to this is that they are fighting a war against terrorists. Therefore,
