“Water is life” – this slogan has long been widely accepted as an undisputed fact because two-thirds of the very human body itself is composed of water and is dependent on water and is dependent on water both constitutionally and functionally. Water is the most important nutrient for us. We cannot live normally without water for more than a couple of days and all biological life is sustained by it.
Almost ¾ of our planet is covered by water. That is why Earth is often called “The planet of Water”. But 98% of water is sea water and it is too salty for us to use. Moreover, since most of this remaining 2% freshwater is ice, less than 0.3% of water on Earth is directly available to us. So, the effective utilization of water is very essential.
It is important for us that the drinking water that is come to us should be pure and safe in drinking. Because as per the survey of W.H.O. 80% of fevers are caused by unsafe and polluted drinking water.
