The Statue
He just seems to linger there in the halls. Everyday students pass the lingering bimbo who I have learned to call the punk rock statue. Resembling a canvas, his face is covered midnight black eyeliner. Thankfully the punk rock statue has not gone to the extent of wearing lipstick, although nail polish consumes his finger tips. Carrying an emotion less yet depressing face I an unsure of his attitude but like a clown in a circus he must put on a show of what people expect to see from him. Statues flat face which resembles a large pepperoni pizza, does not exactly fit his large guerrilla head. Yet this statue is not one people can mock; he carries himself on broad shoulders and a 6' 2" Hispanic replica of Ozzy Osborn.
As punk rock stands in the hall staring into space, certain questions have always passed through my head. Why, that is when I shall begin; my hypothesis for why this student expresses himself this way is due to his self conscious mind is longing for attention. But I am sure that after getting to know/understand him I am sure he would probably just be another person expressing himself. Everyday I see him right after 4th just before 5th period. He waits in between the lunch areas where other student live their lives unknowing of his presence. But still everyday I refrain from asking him what his message to people is. I do however believe that he has no message.
I can only imagine what kind of books he might read. Seeing him in the hallway every day holding as newspaper under his arm, I presume he must be up to date on current events. The comics have always appealed to me but I doubt to find this angry looking statue reading the "Love Is". Many teenagers today, like myself are aware of MTV and the music that has taken over the nation so I can presume "My" Statue listens to alternative/punk/rock music which reminds people like himself of the times
