Look guys are confused. We girls are not STUPID. And we are not fools. And while I can not speak for all of us, I feel that most will agree with me. At least the smart ones will.
We don't want some baffoon. Most of your "tricks" that you think work...Well, they just don't, to say the least.
Like showing off. We may think what you are doing is funny, but I promise, as you see us laughing, we are also saying something like, "What a show off" or some commment on your ego and how you think you are just oh-so-cool. You should want women to be interested in you, not impressed. You might get some attention by doing something impressive, but usually this attention is short-lived.
For me, the most effective way to get someone interested in you is to show an interest in her. If you have an attitude that is accepting and open, and show that you are interested in the her you will seem very interesting. Try asking questions and ACTUALLY LISTENING to the answers!
And another thing. Don't try to seem macho and mean!
When we hear you say negative things, then we worry that you will speak of us negatively!!
If you don't think you can say the "right things" or are nervous about saying the "wrong things", then just try to get her to speak about herself! Duh! We are GIRLS! We LOVE to TALK!
AWESOME TIP: Just let HER do the talking!
Look, you have to get that girls always like to express themselves, and everyone needs someone to listen to them. REALLY paying attention to her and being a good listener will help make her more interested in you! We do want you to have listening skills.
BUT HOLD ON!
I guess I will play Devil's advocate here ha. (Sorry girls!)
If listening is ALL you do, you will most likely be taken for granted.
To keep this from happening, you need to demonstrate some independence.
Show that you have a life of your own! Don't get walked all over! AGH!
COOL TRICK: Now, while you should keep the focus on her when she talks about something in her life, you could maybe mention something in your life that is similar!!
If you do a variety of things in your life, it should be easy to appear independent. On the other hand, if you act like you are never too busy to drop everything to see her, and that as far as you are concerned there are no other women in the world, you will be seen as dependent. Dependency is unattractive. IT GETS ANNOYING! REALLY!
Like really really.
If there's one thing any man needs to learn about women, it's what to say to make us happy!!!!
We want you to say something other than cheezy pick up lines and corny mushy CRAP! AGH! haha We are a little deeper than that!
Here are some nicer suggestions.
"How was your day?"
When you ask us how our day went, we think you are thoughtful and eager to know about us!
However...Here I go being the Devil's advocate again... Be warned: This question gives us license to talk at length about all the little dramas that occurred throughout our day. So be ready to set aside some time to listen to our stories!!!!
To girls, it's the thought that counts. Asking about our day shows that you're receptive, interested and open to listening to us! You're giving us an outlet to vent and acting as our confidante. Sure, you might have to listen longer than you want to, but once we're done talking about tiny problems with so and so, we'll be talking to another so and so about you!!!!
"How do you feel about [anything]?"
Asking this question tells us that you're genuinely concerned about our feelings! And we LOVE that! We love to express their feelings on every topic imaginable!! Haha ask poor Trent, Sara's boyfriend! He sits with us at lunch everyday, and he hears EVERTHING!
Devil's advocate again... (Girls please don't hate me! I'm just being fair!) Know that you're setting yourself up for a lengthy and deep conversation about whatever the topic may be. So don't ask this if you're planning to watch a game that night lol!
It's all about showing the compassionate side! I personally can't stand that whole "strong and silent and rock hard" type! Once we understand that you care and have FEELINGS and a SOFT SIDE and that you're devoting attention to us it will make all our feelings about you that much more intense. So, if you were just kind of attractive before, you'll become a stud in our eyes!! If you were a friend before, now we'll want more. Get the picture? lol
"You're really smart."
By acknowledging her INTELLIGENCE, you're communicating that you recognize her BRAINS, not just her body!. This makes a girl feel appreciated for all her assets, not just the ones that "look good". It's a mark of respect! And it's nice every now and then! We'll appreciate that you are capable of thinking above the waistline!!!!
"You're one of my best friends."
You're telling us how you feel above and beyond a physical context. It means you've placed value on your friendship!! YAY!!!! lol We'll feel more connected to you after you say this. These words change you from being just the guy she's dating to the guy she really with! It rockets you to the top of the suitor list because you've openly declared the F word: FRIENDSHIP!!!!! *happy dance* !!!!
DO NOT SAY ANY OF THAT UNLESS YOU REALLY MEAN IT!!!!
And while I'm at it... It couldn't hurt to be maybe a little charming for once instead of stupid and corny and mushy and all!
Charm and ease in talking to a girl takes practice! You aren't going to automatically be smooth with girls! Well, most won't at least...
No matter how frantic, stressed and obsessed with work or school you are, life is going on all around you and it's a shame to miss out on it!!
AND WE AREN'T FREAKIN MIND READERS! We listen
