The historical issue of government oppression is what I will be discussing. The definition of government oppression is an unjust or cruel exercise of authority or power. My thesis is that government's oppression should not exist. The government should use their authority for good use instead of abusing their power. I think the issue is very important because the government should not use their power for granted. Two of these events have affected me in a way. World War 2 has affected me because if the Nazi and their allies would have taken over the world the world would be different. The Boston Tea Party affected me because if the citizens in Boston didn't do that the U.S would not have its own independence from Great Britain.
World War 2 is the first event that I will be discussing. World War 2 started on September 1, 1939 and ended in 1945. World War 2 is the longest war ever recorded. The reason this started is because of The Germany army group (better known as the Nazi) tried to take over the world with their world re-known leader Adolph Hitler. On September 1, 1939 the Nazi invaded the country of Poland. Also the more famous reason this started is by the Holocaust. The Holocaust is when the Nazi destroy thousand of Jewish people in Germany. Two days later the leader of Great Britain (Winston Churchill) and France declared war on Germany. Italy leader (Benito Mussolini) declared war on U.K. and France. Later the war had two groups. The Axis and the allies. The allies included the U.S.A, the U.K. and the Soviet Union. The Axis group included Germany, Japan and Italy. Germany starts to invade and take over Europe. They invaded France, Belgium, and the Netherlands. They started to invade and eventually took over Yugoslavia and Greece. At this time, the United States was neutral. Then the bomb shell. On December 7, 1941, Japan surprisingly bombed Pearl Harbor in Hawaii. Now the United States were now with the Allies. With the help of their new allies, the U.S. and the U.K. declared war on Japan. Three days after the Pearl Harbor disaster Germany declared war on the U.S. As the war progressed, the Axis took over more parts of the world. (They took over a majority of north western Africa) However, on April 30, the leader of the Nazi and Germany, Adolph Hitler assassinated himself in Berlin
This was the defining point of World War 2. With this on August 6, 1945 D-Day began. D-Day is an operation performed by the Allies group is when U.S. came through the English Channel and battled Germany on the beaches of Normandy, so the Allies could regain France. This was also called the Battle of Normandy. Also this is when the U.S. dropped the only atomic bomb in history on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, which are two cities in Japan. Within in a couple of days, Japan would later surrender. On August 15, 1945 (nine days later) there was a huge celebration at Times Square in New York. In September 24, 1945 Hideki Tojo shot himself, trying to commit suicide because of the surrender of Japan but the doctors helped him survive. With this
