When we compare the Hillsboro County’s population change in last five years (2009-2014) and last ten years (2004-2014), we can know that five towns kept growing in there population in different growth speeds. Please see appendix for graph. Boalsburg grew in a positive growth speed. Middleboro, Jasper, Statesville and Mifflenville grew in a negative growth speed. The population in Harris City was decreasing slower and slower while in Carterville was decreasing faster and faster. The population in Minortowere changed from decreasing to increasing. According to these data, we can predict that the population in towns kept growing in a positive speed, kept decreasing in a negative speed or change from decreasing to increasing may increase in the following five years. They are Boalsburg, Harris City and Minortowere. The population in others towns may have a little room for expansion. Based on the analysis of the case, some other factors will also influence the population of these towns. Hillsboro County has many attractive views and a moderate climate, which will bring more people to settle down here. The new transportation between lands will also contribute to the growth of population in Hillsboro County. Moreover, the State University (SU) and some other education institutions can provide a well-educated workforce to support Hillsboro County’s industries and improve the economic here, which will attract new residents. Last but not least, under the support of government’s policy, Hillsboro County shows a bright future in healthcare, more resident will get better health treatment. The average life expectancy here will become longer which makeS the population increase. According to these factors, it is not hard for us to expect a growth in the population of CY+5 for all towns located in Hillsboro County.
