A wheelchair is a wheeled mobility device in which the users sit. You move around
by pushing the wheels with your hands. Some wheelchairs, however, are electronic
and do not require pushing. They use an automated system.
To have a place become 'wheelchair accessable' their must be some sort of lift
or inclined plane. The most important principle of "Americans with Disablilty Act"
is that all people regardless of disability ar entitled to equal acces to all parts of
society like public transportation and buildings.
It would be easier to a wheelchair user if there were less stairts, and more
camps or elevators.
What realy is an inclined plane? An inclined plane is a flat,sloped surface.
It is very helpful to use if you must moce something very heavy by yourself.
An inclined plane lets you put all your input force over a longer distance.
Resulting in less input force. Translation? That means less work for you.
You can figure out the ideal mechanical advantage of an inclined plane by
dividing the length of the inclined plane by its own height.
What is a wedge? You might ask that questions several times throughout
