Since Dean is interested in knowing more about a bank image study, a Exporatory Research in the form of Define Terms is the most suitable design. In this case, this kind of research can help a lots to define what her bank image is. By analysing some aspects namely the location, commitment to community, employees’ loyalty, and environmental resonsibility, Sam would give Dean a comprehensive picture about her bank image at this moment.

Since the president already knows about who are people the college should reach when considering a football team, the Exporatory Research Design (Focus Group) should be used in this case. Because the president wants to know whether alums will be willing to send in a donations and whether present students will support the football team, researching small groups of people who are present students and alums at that college are very necessary for a successful plan then. In particular, Sam can give some quick surveys or make short interviews to college students. It would help Cayleigh understand more about students’ emotions, ideas, and expectations in his college regarding football team, so that he could bring out appropriate decisions that make a majority of students in the college happier.

The Discriptive Research is used to clarify how customers found out about products in the past and forecast the sales. In this case, Effan said that he would like to know what promotional methods have been used over the last 5 years in the chocolate industry and how those promotions impacted sales, Sam definitely should do a descriptive research to answer Effan’s questions.

 By using Market- Tracking studies, Sam can measure competitors’ brand awareness, track the difference between customer sentiment before and after the promotional methods, whether their competitors reached their goal after marketing campaigns in last 5 years. In addition, because market- tracking is another use of longtudinal data, Sam can use it to analyse the transforming thoughts of the same customer in a period of time.
