Why assisted suicide should not be permitted
Assisted suicide is considered as an extreme solution for permanent damage that occurs
to a patient without any other ways to solute. The methods usually include using lethal medicine
or even lethal but not irrational gas. But assisted suicide should not be permitted due to the fact
that it may cause the problems like “invalidity of individual’s illness”, “unethical untrustworthy
people” or be considered as “a short term-solution” for the patients.
From the article that BBC news published in 2009, the report shows us, "The data of
assisted suicide during 1998-2008, the deaths was at a peak during years 2001-2008; Even in
2006, the assisted suicide from Dignitas patients went to a number around 200 "(Assisted
suicide: Debate 1). So the question is revealed that actually there are a lot of people in each years
that are seeking the opportunity to commit suicide either from the pressure of their families, their
workplaces, or even from themselves. But the problem comes out that there are not much
countries in the world that supports the law of allowing assisted suicide existed. So there is even
a tourism for suicide. Shown here "The Swiss government has drafted two papers aimed to
regulation assisted suicide, one suggesting restrictions to the current law, and another proposing
a pan on assisted suicide organizations."(16). So why is a government that allows assisted suicide
somehow showing a will to reject their decision and even propose to ban the organizations for
supporting assisted suicide?
First of all, the assisted suicide is really in a position that some patients may abuse to use
this method to end their illness, or pain for something that is not a big deal. There are a lot of
patients all around the world are trying to cure their diseases in order to back a normal life. Some
