A decade ago I landed in US with a dream to learn and build my life. I started my undergraduate degree in Drexel University; Philadelphia during the start of the Internet bubble and along side gained some experience working for corporations ranging from a startup to a fortune 500. During this course of time, I was always told to figure out what you like to do and then make a career out of it. Before I started working full time, I came to the realization that my interests lay jointly in IT and business, but in my undergraduate degree program I ended up taking a very light load of business classes due to my concentration of technical classes.
When I started working full time in the real world, I was involved in many IT projects which required a firm understanding of business concepts and their dependency on IT. I tried hard to gain exposure to those fundamental concepts through my colleagues in other departments but it was only limited given the workload and that is where I started to feel the requirement of an MBA degree. I felt that through an MBA degree I will be able to gain exposure to both theories and practices. I will attain a deeper understanding of management concepts and will be able to apply those concepts to real life situations on the job.
Following a successfully completion of my MBA program, I would like to seek a position a better position in my company and excel among my peers and eventually climb up the corporate ladder. After excelling in all aspects of the defined contribution, I would like to start consulting in the area of health technology services of a hospital.
