INTRODUCTION
The present system handled for the calculation of electricity bill by the electricity bill by the electricity board takes more time. On the other hand man power involved in this process is more, this is because the persons taking readings has to travel to various to collect each consumer's energy meter readings eliminated by substituting any remote systems and by wireless communication.
In this project we use remote calculation systems. The data can be transmitted through different means. Some of them are IR data communications, RF data communication etc out of these, RF communication find various advantages over other communication systems. Although there are many successful application using RF waves, the wireless communication find wide application using RF waves. Hence in the project we use RF data communication for data transfer which can communicate well and maintain consistent performance even for long distances, providing better data communication in all conditions.
SYNOPSIS
Nowadays most of the calculations are being done and records are maintained using computer. But one of the most familiar calculations, the electric tariff calculation is manually carried out. This takes more time for having the readings and for calculating the cost. Also the record maintenance is very expensive and difficult. This problem is overcome by transmitting digital data obtained from the energy meter through the transmitter from the transmission block and these data are received in the control block and the calculations are made and recorded using a PC.
Hence the major involved in electric tariff calculation can be solved by implementing this project we can minimize man power thereby labour cost. Mainly the time is saved.
HARDWARE:
The hardware part consists of the project includes microcontroller, IR sensor, LCD, Microswitces, Memory IC, Step down transformer.
SOFTWARE:
We have developed our microcontroller programming using 'C' language.
