“I would have been happy bumming around until September but Dad called in a favor to get me in here. And at least I don't have to wear a uniform like my bud Wayne over at the Dairy Barn.... So I'm here under protest, a political prisoner of the capitalist overlord otherwise known as Dad.” This is Duncan from the book acceleration showing his wits again. He is an extremely intelligent person who also has amazing athlete ability to back him up. If I had a choice on whom from the book I wanted to be it would have to be Duncan.
All though I do not like is name I am very impressed with values and traits as a whole. He reminds me of me in some ways but in most ways I what to be a lot of things he is. One thing is his cunningness and intelligentsia. I have always wanted to be smart enough to think like a serial killer and then be even smarter then the killer so I could catch him. He used the details in the dairy to help lead him to where the killer would be and that was awe inspiring to me. Another thing was his athlete ability in swimming. I can swim fairly well but I can’t hold my breath that long. He was swimming down looking for the locker key in pool and he said he had not held his breath in one year but he could still do it for one minute. It is a long time for not swimming in one year so that was stellar. I admirer this humor, it reminds me of myself so a great deal. “If you think of a half-deflated soccer ball with two of the hairiest ears you've ever seen attached to it, you've got a good picture of Jacob.” I actually enjoyed reading all of his descriptions of people through the entire book. Over all I have to say it was one the greatest books I have read and I really enjoyed reading it.
