Are we alone?

Man has often looked up at the sky and wondered are we alone? What or who else is out there? The answer is still not clear to us. But, if there we life somewhere out there in the vast expanse of space, I think it would not have any consequences on our moral and ethical grounds. We as humans are very set in our beliefs and ideas. Just because a being from another solar system and planet can think murder is fine and dandy does not mean the human race will embrace the idea with open arms. I think the human race will be very hostile to these new creatures and their thoughts on morals.

Some people will say that aliens will affect our moral compass, however just because an alien might think it is okay does not make it right here on earth. We are not on his planet. The things that might fly on his planet do not fly here on our planet. The morals we have are engrained in us from day one of birth, and those that change their ethics and morals because of life on another planet was not very set with their morals to begin with. Ethics cannot be changed on every wish and whim they have. To change your ethics goes against everything basically human. If people changed their morals the world would collapse, society as we know it would fall apart. I am not saying we have the best ethics as a race, but they seem to be working so far.
