- What does situation look like from Landers point of view?
From Landers point of view situation is tense as he has to confront Rollins against whom he was involved in a legal battle. Lack of trust that had developed between them over the Val-d’Or deal had led to filing of suit and the dispute over the commission.
- If you were Lander and had to confront Rollins, how would you go about doing this?
As both of them had agreed to keep the dispute to themselves the same would have been followed. As Lander I would have told Rollins that the dispute over the Val-d’Or deal would be as per the decision of the Suit and should not form a problem for other deals which are of mutual interest to both of us.
- What are Landers main concern and how can he address them in this difficult conversation?
The main concern of Lander was that the differences between him and Rollins which existed could become disastrous for Thamesford if he did not handle the same properly. The same could be addressed properly in the conversation of he opens and states his terms and conditions clearly. Since this deal would be of mutual interest to Thamesford in which he as well as Rollins are partners the same should be dealt independently of the previous dispute which would be settled as per the decision of the suit. This should be spelt out clearly in the initial conversation itself.
- If you were Rollins how does the situation look from your point of view?
The situation from Rollins point of view is also similar to that of Landers. He has been accused of cheating and was involved in a lawsuit against Lander. Moreover he was the CFO as well as partner in the firm Thamesford and it was also important for him to work with Lander and Golden together for the success of the purchase.
- As Rollins what are your key objectives for the conversation?
The key objective of the conversation would be to develop a bond of mutual faith between him and Lander so that they can jointly work on the project.
- Given that you as Rollins are being asked to work with Lander, how should you respond to Lander in general?
As Rollins is the CFO as well as partner in Thamesford and it is also for his interest that the two work together so Rollins should behave maturely and try to develop the lost mutual trust and explain his position to Landers. This project should be dealt independently of the previous dispute as this of mutual interest to both.
