This appeal is very strong and powerful to grab the readerÐ'ÐŽÐ'¦s attention about how Union Carbide has been carelessly ignoring the affected victims. It slowly builds up anger towards Carbide by outlining their mistakes throughout the article. We are given direct quotes from Carbide such as Ð'ÐŽÐ'§Nothing has happened, canÐ'ÐŽÐ'¦t you see us alive?Ð'ÐŽÐ'Ð that focus on guilt of Union Carbide, although the articleÐ'ÐŽÐ'¦s quotes are mainly one sided, (Quotes against Carbide) is still very effective because itÐ'ÐŽÐ'¦s still a real quote. Another quote Ð'ÐŽÐ'§itÐ'ÐŽÐ'¦s just an irritantÐ'ÐŽÐ'Ð this also builds up anger towards Union Carbide because many thousands of people died, and this sentence is a powerful and effective because it shows that Union Carbide doesnÐ'ÐŽÐ'¦t care about anyone but themselves.
On the first paragraph, it starts with a man burying his daughter; this immediately grabs the readerÐ'ÐŽÐ'¦s attention and has created suspense. This scene is very horrific and sympathetic towards the burial of the baby and makes parents or people learn to appreciate with what they have. The writer talks about their photographer who is not even one of the victims cried as he took the picture. This is looking from a readerÐ'ÐŽÐ'¦s perspective point of view, making readers informed of this serious situation and not an exaggerated story.
