Cancer
We have a situation in our hands.an issue that needs to get solved. A common illness that searches for a cure. This disease affects people and animals of all ages. So many deaths have been caused due to this disease. Good afternoon/morning rev. sisters, teachers, and my fellow students. This dreadful disease is called cancer. This disease occurs when healthy, regular cells transforms into cancer cells. First a single cell gets get infected then it gradually multiplies. These cells are very hard to get rid of as they lack the ability to self-destruct, but some treatments are available.
There are some treatments but they differ according to the part infected. Some treatments given are hormone and radiation therapy, surgery.
Surgery is when the doctor cuts the body part infected with cancer and removes it, along with some body tissue to make sure that the patient is on a safe side.
Next we come to hormone therapy. It is when a drug is injected or taken orally into the patient. This treatment will stop the production of cancer cells and will start to produce healthy regular cells.
Finally we come to radiation therapy. It is when a special machine which contains high energy rays are used. This machine is focused to where the main source of cancer is. This treatment will destroy the abnormal cells. This treatment will help limit the spread of cancer cells but side effects such as constipation, nausea, delirium, sleeping disorders and vomiting can occur. Not all patients experience the same, it may defer on how serious the cancer is and the physical status of the patient. Some people even though they go through a lot of treatments will not survive and others will successfully recover.
There are many causes of cancer. Among those some of them are poor diet, not eating many vegetables and eating junk food instead, smoking, alcohol, and genetic.
Smoking is one of the major causes of cancer nowadays. Most people start smoking when they are teens. What they say is that they, “just wanted to try it”, or they thought it was, “cool” to smoke. For them to try it or think that it is cool there must be a reason behind it. The reason for this should be the the market ads that show smoking as an exciting, glamorous, and safe thing to do. Alcohol too is the same. Finally smoking and alcohol leads to cancer. Some genes are controlled when our cells grow, divide and die. So these changes in cells can cause normal body cells to become cancerous. So when it means genetic it means that sometimes a person in your family have a chance of getting infected with cancer. This is why your family history comes from generation to generation. It helps you to plan, prepare and prevent this disease if possible. Preventing it may sound difficult but to reduce the chance of cancer all we have to do is to take a healthy diet, exercise and early detection. When it comes to cancer the best thing is to know its early signs. It increases your chance of surviving.
